I thought this will be the perfect time to share with you all my Christmas digestive elixir. This can be used at any time of the year of course !
This fiery root ginger contains a compound called gingerol this stimulates saliva , bile and gastric juices needed for great digestion. It is also a muscle relaxant therefore it is great for getting rid of excess gas which is a result of poor digestion.
Cardamon is a spice that is a member of the ginger family. For centuries it has been used to aid digestion. This amazing spice can prevent bloating , upset stomach , heart burn , nausea, constipation and vomiting. Acetic and formic acids are the reasons for these amazing health benefits and it’s distinctive flavour.
When ingested cinnamon breaks down fat and has a warming effect on the digestive system. It contains important fibers that helps the transition of your food through your intestines down to your colon.
INGREDIENTS (Serves 1)
2 Green cardamon pods
1 Inch of ginger
Quarter teaspoon of cinnamon
1.5 Cups of water
1 Teaspoon of honey (optional)
1- Crush 2 green pods of cardamon and finely chop the ginger
2- boil the water and add the cardamons pods , ginger and cinnamon
3- Lower the fire and simmer for 5 minutes
4- Pour into a mug , add honey and enjoy! , drink this tea before or after your meals
