Firstly what is inflammation ? It is a physical condition whereby your tissues become red swollen and painful . We have all experienced these symptoms whether it’s the inflammation from acne spots to arthritis. Either way it’s something that we all do not want to go through. Turmeric

Turmeric reduces inflammation naturally due to it’s curcumins the yellow pigment that is responsible for it’s vibrant colour . Traditionally it is used to make delicious curries but it is particularly good for headaches , swellings, colds, menstrual cramps  and Alzheimer. Basically  pretty much anything that is related to inflammation. However please note that turmeric should not be taken if you have gall bladder issues ,blood clotting problems or diabetes.

 

Ginger

Ginger is a root that is from the same family as turmeric , I absolutely love the fiery taste  . The active ingredient is zingiberene , when consumed it improves pain and swelling.

Flaxseeds

Flaxseeds A.K.A Linseeds contains a vegan source of omega 3 essential fatty acid so when taken internally it is just as effective as taking ibuprofen for arthritic pain. Therefore this is a safer alternative to taking pain killers.I added in the coconut oil for it’s anti-bacterial properties and great taste .

This can be drunk up to twice a day, by regularly incorporating these ingredients into your daily diet you will be pain free in no time.

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY SMOOTHIE

Serves 1

Prep time 5 mins , Cook time 2 mins

INGREDIENTS


1.5 Cups of Almond Milk

1/2 Teaspoon of Turmeric powder

1 Large ripe frozen banana

1/4 inch ginger

1 Tablespoon of Flaxseeds

1 Tablespoon organic Coconut oil

1/4 teaspoon of Cinnamon


INSTRUCTIONS

1-Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth

2-Serve immediately and enjoy !
